Kaitlin & John – Engagement Portraits

A Beaver Lake Nature Center Engagement Portrait Session ~ Baldwinsville, NY

When we arrived at Beaver Lake Nature Center in Baldwinsville, NY, Kaitlin, John, and I realized the Golden Festival was happening at the same time as their session! No worries, we quickly made our way into the beautiful hiking areas in the forest that surrounds the serene Beaver Lake. The nature trails and trees made a beautiful backdrop to Kaitlin and John’s Engagement Session.

Kaitlin and John are such a sweet couple. They make each other laugh, and had a good time telling me how they met. They met at a bowling alley with some friends, and have been together for 8 years. Kaitlin couldn’t tell me if John was a good bowler or not (he said “not”), but you could just tell seeing them together that they were in love.

Together they are going on a few different adventures! One, I learned their dog just had 11 puppies! Kaitlin is a very protective dog mama, and was loving all the puppies. Two, they bought and are currently taking on their own “fixer upper!” John, a contractor himself, is taking on the huge project of making their 100 year old house into a home. I told that them Dave and I could relate because we bought an old house the year we were engaged, and spent most of that year gutting and fixing it–alongside wedding planning. NOT something I would recommend doing, by the way, but it was so neat to hear of another couple doing the same thing. We wish you guys the best of luck in your new home! The third adventure is getting married. In just a few short weeks, they will become Mr. & Mrs., and Dave and I can’t wait to photograph their big day!

Kaitlin & John, it was such a pleasure getting to know you guys. Even if the creepy scarecrow guys freaked me out, you guys were a blast to hang out with and even more fun to photograph. Looking forward to documenting your wedding day October 15th! Enjoy your sneak peeks!
